WHAT IS UV PRINTING?
UV printing is a method of digital printing that uses ultraviolet (UV) light to dry or cure ink as it is printed. As the printer distributes ink on the surface of a material UV lights follow close behind curing the ink instantly. This type of printer allows us to print directly onto almost any material - from paper to acrylic, foam board and wood panelling - with record speed and incredible detail.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF UV PRINTING?
Choosing UV printing over traditional printing methods could be the difference between producing a luxury product, and something that feels much less superior. With UV printing, high resolutions can be achieved and colours are sharper and more vivid as there is no absorption on to the printing medium. Not only does the method speed up production, rejection rates are reduced as the quality is higher. For example, as the ink is cured almost instantly, wet droplets of ink are eliminated, so there is no smudging.
The inks also have improved physical properties and multiple finishes are available, from spot gloss to a raised, embossed effect. They are also more durable and weather resistant, and offer an increased resistance to fading making them ideal for outdoor signage.
WHAT CAN WE UV PRINT ON?
Essentially, if you can fit the material into the printer, we can print on it with UV ink. The maximum sizes we can print are 130cm x 250cm (up to 5cm tall) or 42cm x 59cm (up to 15cm tall).
